Celebrations

I want to congratulate all the teachers, classes and participants who represented Lakeview School during the recent Quesnel Festival of the Arts.  Last Friday, Lakeview hosted the Speech Arts portion of the festival, and it was inspiring to see the students demonstrate mastery in their poetry presentations.  Mrs. Trueman's class and Mrs. Curle's class presented two poems together and were awarded Gold on their performances and $100.  Mrs. Scanlan's class and Ms. McCart's class presented two poems as well, again winning gold, $100 and an invitation to present at the Celebration of the Stars at the conclusion of the festival!

The Lakeview Dreamers Choir, led by Ms. Milette, was also awarded a Trophy for Best School Choir, Gold and $100!  This choir has been very busy this year with performances all over town, including carolling at Walmart, opening at the BC Winter Games, opening a school board meeting, singing at a Roos Game and more!

I would also like to recognize the hard work, creativity, emotional regulation and effort that goes into preparing students for events like these.  The presentations are very rich learning experiences that students will remember for years to come.  Keep up the great work Lakeview!
