Parent Update - Sept 15
Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds you well. We have some exciting changes and announcements to share with you regarding our school!
1. Unified Lunch Schedule: Starting this week, all students will follow the same lunch schedule. From 12:00 PM to 12:20 PM, students will spend time in their class eating their lunch and doing a quiet activity once they’ve finished. Following lunch, they will have the opportunity to engage in outdoor activities until 12:55 PM. This change will allow students of all grade levels to interact and play together during this time, fostering a stronger sense of community within our school.
2. Intramural Soccer: We are thrilled to announce the start of intramural soccer for students in grades 2 through 7. Our program will consist of four teams comprised of mixed-age players, promoting teamwork and camaraderie. Intramural soccer games will take place during lunchtime on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each team will play once a week.
3. Volleyball Teams: We have received an overwhelming response from girls in grades 6 and 7 who are interested in joining our volleyball team. The girls' teams start practicing next week, but we are still looking for players to form a boys' team. If your child has an interest in volleyball, please encourage them to participate. It's a fantastic opportunity to develop their skills and teamwork!
4. School Website to Log and Absence: To improve communication and streamline the process of reporting absences or passing along information, we encourage you to use our school website. Simply visit our website and click on the 'Contact Us' link to log an absence or share important information with the office.
5. Family BBQ Event: Lastly, we have an exciting family BBQ event in the works! Stay tuned for more information and details about this upcoming gathering, where we can all come together as a school community and enjoy some quality time.
6. Planners: Unfortunately, there was a fire at the warehouse that made our planners and they needed to be reprinted. We do expect to receive them for each class, however, there will be a delay. Please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher directly if you have questions or concerns.
We are excited about these changes and opportunities for our students. Your support and involvement are essential in making them a success. If you have any questions or need further information, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you for being an essential part of our school community. We look forward to a wonderful and engaging school year ahead!
Warm regards,
Dean Morrow
